Essay On Same Sex Marriages Example For Students
Essay On Same Sex Marriages One day, Tom, a six-year-old from San Francisco came home from school feelingisolated. Its bad enough that he had no mother to confide in, he had to livewith that thought all his life. Tom was so ostracized, shattered, and disturbedthat he slashed his wrists. Toms life had changed when his father became gayand started living with a man. Tom could not take the shame. At school he waspicked on, made fun of, and rejected. This is one example of the effects of gaymarriage. Over time, may states have been under a lot of pressure over the issueof gay marriage licensees. Should we allow same-sex marriages? Definitely not, based on the morals of our country, I believe we should not allow gay marriages. We should not permit gay marriages because a gay marriage goes against alltraditional ethics that this country is trying to preserve. America, is anexemplary nation. America is also a culturally influential to other countries aswell. During the past two decades, traditional morality has gradually increased. One of the most important institutions of our traditional ethics, is marriage. (Raunch)Marriage may be the single most important joint institution that the Americanpeople have. It is the basis of the future. Recently, the pressure on a judge inHawaii who gave permission to marry a gay couple is slowly trying to increase. (Ego Judge) Judge Chang has changed the whole purpose of marriage. This may notbe such a bad idea one will just say, As long as it does not affectme. However, If Hawaii recognizes this law, it may become the law of theland. This is all due to the full faith and credit law. (Snow) This law simplymeans that if one state passes or submits a law, other states must completelyfollow this leading state. (American Government and Politics Today) That wouldnot be idealistic since a recent poll showed ninety percent of Americans opposegay marriages. (Gallup poll) Gay marriages should not be allowed because it isunconstitutional. The forefathers of the land wrote the constitution on a solidreligious background. Making gay marriages legal would change mostconstitutional laws. Just as the traditional families would have to getinsurance, so would a gay marriage couple. Therefore, insurance companies wouldhave to change their laws. Children would have to be taught about the illegalmarriages as part of their education. That would, in turn, force the state toreview the current education laws and what children are learning. Allowing gaymarriages would also remove the Equal Rights Amendment since there would besexual barriers. (Knight) Allowing gay marriages would eventually end centuriesof tradition for American people that were built on Christian and moral values. (Arkes) It would change the entire would we live in. Churches would have toadopt the idea that surpasses all of Gods laws. (Commonweal) Gay marriageswould be against the constitution that was and is built on a biblical backgroundand future for the nation. Of course, gay persons claim to be the peaceful,non-violent, loving kind.(Chumbley) However, if society should accept them, theninevitably that serenity they have would disappear because they would reveal whothey truly are. I think if we allow this ridiculous procedure to take place, wewould have a future full of artificial insemination, which is not natural. Weshould not allow same-sex marriage because one of the fundamental purposes ofmarriage is procreation or production of children. (Socarides) If we allow gaymarriages it would weaken our race and bring about a lot of other issues likecloning. A child should be born out of the conjugal love of two parents: a manand a woman, not one of the same. Personally, I fell that gay people are notparents. They are partners with affection for each other. An affection that isnot built on a communion, but sexual desire. Children are a vital part of ourfuture and we need to let the natural balance of nature keep its stability. (Burman)There would be a lot of cultures created and that in turn would create moreracism. We need to maintain the way human bare children because it is thenatural way. One of the most important reasons why we should not allow gaymarriages is the possibility of gay couples adopting children. As in the caseTony, this is a good example of how children can be psychologically affected. Inturn, a child can become gay at a young age but not at will. The childrenusually become gay through the influence of gay people. Having gay parents canalso put a child at risk of involvement with the parent. (Garcia) Homosexualparenting is bad for our children and society. A child growing up with a gay manmay not receive enough love and touch from their parent, as a no rmal motherwould give that child. How would that child feel kissing or hugging their parentat a parents conference or anywhere for that matter. Mostly, it would humiliatethem and they would be regarded inferiors by his or her friends. Letting gaymarriages continue to be apart of lives is definitely unbearable. It wouldevaporate a constitution that took so much time and so many generations touphold. A constitution which is not only our government, but also our future. .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .postImageUrl , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:hover , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:visited , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:active { border:0!important; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:active , .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65 .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uacc6817c46abe4bb42a00169c1903a65:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Learning Computers EssayAllowing gay marriages would weaken our race and make way for artificialfertilization. It would also destroy the meaning of marriage: the communionbrought together by God, which is meant for a man and a woman to raise childrentogether. Gay couples cannot take care of child as much as heterosexual parents. Gay parents would offend and even endanger a childs life. Imagine building acastle on top of a hill and living in it for decades, loving it, and caring forit. Imagine someone trying to tell you how to take care of your castle and howyou should change everything you worked hard for. Would that make you feelbetter? Lets take a moment to think about this. We definitely do not need same-sex marriages. Marriage is a sacred bond, not a law that can be bent at will. BibliographyArkes, Hadley. Odd Couples, National Review, 12 Aug 1996. Burman,Skrable.
